Card issuing service

Our card issuing service enables banks to issue custom branded Visa and MasterCard debit, credit and prepaid cards.

Cards can be migrated or issued on a bank’s own BIN-range or the bank can run on BIN-ranges sponsored by Auka or other partners. Based on our processing engine, we support complex transaction routing, including conditional transaction switching, local and external hosting of accounts, pre-paid balances and lines of credit.

Cards can be connected to stored value accounts and card balance can be topped up from any other funding source, in real time. Credit can be made available instantly with or without plastic being issued.

Auka’s card issuing product supports virtual, physical and digital card issuing including HCE (Host Card Emulation) capabilities, enabling cloud-based provisioning of card to NFC enabled devices. We also provide card management features for both issuers and the cardholder.

Cards can be disabled, reissued, replaced, and PIN can be reset. Transactions can be blocked based on type, merchant, location or amount. Card holders can manage their virtual, physical or digital cards via the consumer app while the issuer manage customers and cards via the bank console.

Visa and MasterCard issuing

Easy issuing of Visa or MasterCard debit, credit or prepaid cards. Cards can be virtual, physical or digital (HCE). Auka has partnerships to handle plastic production, shipping and PIN distribution for physical cards.

Debit, credit and prepaid cards

Auka supports debit, credit and prepaid cards, connected to accounts, balances or lines of credits hosted by Auka or straight through processing towards accounts authorized by third party.

Virtual, physical and digital issuing

Virtual cards can be made available to the card holder instantly in the consumer app, where card details are used by the cardholder to perform card not present transactions, typically for e-com and digital subscriptions, etc.

Physical cards are shipped to the cardholder, including the PIN being delivered either digitally via the consumer app or by separate mail.

Physical cards can be issued with or without a virtual twin card. Auka also supports digital card issuing where a card is issued and deployed electronically onto a compliant device, such as a mobile phone that features SE/HCE support (Android and ApplePay).

BIN hosting and BIN sponsorship

Auka can host and issue cards on a BIN-range already obtained by the bank, or the bank can choose to issue cards on a sponsored BIN-range from Auka.

Issuer card management

Through the bank console, the card issuer can manage all cards. Cards can be disabled, reissued, replaced, PIN-reset and transactions can be blocked based on type, merchant, location or amount.

Consumer card management

Through the consumer app the card holder can manage their cards. Cards can be disabled, reissued, replaced, PIN-reset and transactions can be blocked based on type, merchant, location or amount

Transaction switching

Based on the Auka processing engine, we support complex transaction routing, including conditional transaction switching. When the authorisation hits Auka, it can be handled by us and debited toward accounts, balances or lines of credit hosted on our platform.

Alternatively, the transaction authorisation can be forwarded to any third party system via RESTful APIs.

On the back of this flexibility comes a multitude of settlement and reconciliation options. Auka can settle on behalf of the issuer or the issuer may settle on their own.

Take me to the overview

Card stream

As an extension of our card issuing service, Auka enriches card transactions in real time, adding metadata such as merchant details, location, weather and other big data sources to the transaction. This provides a colorful visualisation of transactions to the card holder.

Card stream is typically made available as an integral part of the consumer app, driving engagement as each card transaction is pushed to the digital channel in real time.

Card stream can also be used as a security enhancer, notifying card owners of transactions, or as an authorisation mechanism, where guardians approve transactions when initiated by underage cardholders.

Real-time transaction categorisation

Transactions are tagged with relevant category data in real time as the authorisations hits Auka. This enables the consumer app to visualise transactions grouped by category, powering potentially rich customer experiences and personal finance solutions.

Transactional meta and big data inclusion

Transactions can be enriched and associated with optional meta-data enabling more immersive and informational transaction visualisation. Weather, statistical information about amounts typically spent at a given merchant and trend information can be added alongside basic meta-data, such as merchant logo, address, contact information and map-links.
